Probably best known for the nationally renowned Thomas Wrigley collection of Victorian oil paintings and watercolours - including both a Turner and Constable - the gallery also has a selection of temporary themed exhibitions throughout the year, covering everything from photography to local crafts.
The museum - which was opened in 1907 - has an excellent reconstruction of a cobbled Bury street, showing shops and dwellings from throughout the history of the area, along with other related interactive displays and exhibits.....
